Police investigate armed robbery at Lower Truro gas station

RCMP are investigating an armed robbery at a gas station in Lower Truro, N.S., on Monday.

Police say they responded to a report of a robbery involving a utility knife at a gas station on Robie Street around 12:35 a.m.

According to a Tuesday news release, the man entered the store wearing a mask and demanded money from the till and cigarettes while holding the knife before placing the money into a garbage can and leaving the store on foot heading eastbound on Robie Street carrying the garbage can.

Police say there were no other people in the store at the time of the incident, and the employee did not report any injuries.

The man is described by police as between five-foot-eight and five-foot-10. He was wearing a greet bucket hat, a long green coat that went below the knees, black pants, black rubber boots and a mask covering his face.
