The Nova RCMP says it is looking to identify a person of interest after a hate-motived crime in Lower Ship Harbour.

The force received a report of mischief at a residential property on West Ship Harbour Road on March 25 around 11:10 a.m.

Police say a Pride flag and an Every Child Matters flag at the end of a driveway had been vandalized sometime the day before.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify a person of interest in the case.

The RCMP released a photo of the person in a Monday news release.

The person of interest has grey hair and is wearing a black jacket, black pants and grey shoes at the time of the incident.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.

They are asking anyone with information about the incident, or who can identify the person of interest, to call them at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
