N.S. man arrested for impaired driving after crashing vehicle on Highway 118

A man is facing impaired driving charges after a crash on Highway 118 in Waverley, N.S., Saturday night.

The RCMP and firefighters responded to the single-vehicle collision around 7:37 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a Dodge Ram overturned in the ditch.

Police suspected the driver, who was not injured, was impaired and they arrested him at the scene.

The 38-year-old East Preston, N.S., man was taken to the Lower Sackville RCMP detachment, where police say he provided two breath samples registering 240 mg% and 230 mg%.

The man, who has not yet been named, is facing charges of impaired operation of a conveyance and impaired operation of a conveyance over 80%.

He was released from custody and is due to appear in Dartmouth provincial court at a later date.
