A 60-year-old Mill Village, N.S., man has been charged after an attempted murder in the community last month.
Queens District RCMP responded to a weapons call at a home on Highway 3 on March 28 around 3:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, police say they found a man with life-threatening injuries and learned another man had left in a vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The force says officers located and arrested the suspect at a home in Voggler’s Cove around 7:45 a.m.
“Investigators have determined that the victim, an 84-year-old man, sustained injuries consistent with being stabbed. The men were known to each other and no one else was inside the home at the time of the incident,” reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP.
Derek Dominix was charged with attempt to commit murder and was remanded into custody.
He is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater provincial court on April 10.
