Police are looking for a suspect after elver fishing nets worth thousands of dollars were stolen in Ingramport, N.S.

The RCMP received a complaint around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday that licensed fishing gear had been taken from the Ingramport River near Rivers End Road.

Investigators learned someone had stolen two elver fishing nets earlier that morning. The nets have an estimated value of $4,000.

The RCMP says information and evidence led officers to search a property in Sipekne’katik, but they did not find the nets.

Investigators have released photos of a person of interest and are asking for help in identifying them.
