Four people are facing dozens of charges after police searched two homes in Dartmouth, N.S., on Thursday.
Police first executed a search warrant at a home on Fernhill Drive around 8:15 p.m. in connection with a firearms investigation.
Officers arrested a man and a woman and seized a firearm.
Travae Kadeem Veldas Tynes appeared in Dartmouth provincial court Friday.
The 30-year-old faced charges of:
- possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations
- possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Jessica Sandra Tynes also appeared in Dartmouth court Friday.
The 50-year-old faced the following charges:
- possession of a firearm – no licence or certificate
- possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- unauthorized possession of a firearm
- possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace
- store a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations
- possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
About 30 minutes later, police executed a search warrant on Newcastle Street, also related to a firearms investigation.
Another man and a woman were arrested and a firearm was seized.
Francis Delvin Kendal Tynes, 31, appeared in Dartmouth provincial Friday to face charges of:
- possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (two counts)
- store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (two counts)
- unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts)
- possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized (two counts)
- possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm (two counts)
- possession of a firearm prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
- possession of a firearm contrary to order (two counts)
- possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime
- possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
Lajuana Jakiera Bruce also appeared in Dartmouth provincial court on Friday.
The 30-year-old faces the following charges:
- possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (two counts)
- store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (two counts)
- unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts)
- possession of a firearm – no licence or certificate
- possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm with ammunition
- possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime
- possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon obtained by crime
