Six people arrested, two charged after Saint John police seize $60,000 worth of drugs

Six people have been arrested following a drug trafficking investigation in Saint John, N.B.

The Saint John Police Force says officers started investigating after receiving information in June.

According to a news release Thursday, police executed search warrants on Wednesday, leading them to arrest six people.

During the search, police say they seized:

• 299.82 grams of cocaine with a street value of $29,982
• 301 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $30,100
• 33 oxycodone pills with a street value of $300
• 119 grams of a “cutting agent”
• $55,163 in cash
• cross bow with three arrows
• bear spray
• three imitation firearms
• an ASP baton
• 625 rounds of .22-caliber ammunition

A 51-year-old man and a 47-year-old man who who were arrested during the search held for court.

The 51-year-old male was charged with:

• trafficking cocaine
• possession for the purpose of trafficking oxycodone
• proceeds of crime

The 47-year-old was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Both men are set to appear in court Thursday for a bail hearing.
