N.B. RCMP investigating 3 ‘intentionally set’ wildfires in Kouchibouguac

The New Brunswick RCMP is asking for the public’s help as it investigates a series of wildfires in Kouchibouguac last week.

Members of the Richibucto RCMP received a report of multiple wildfires at a park along Route 117 and Route 134 around 12:20 p.m. on April 21.

Police say officers discovered three wildfires at the scene.

The Beaurivage Fire Department and Park Warden Services also responded.

The fires were extinguished quickly and no one was injured.

Police say they have determined the fires were intentionally set.

The RCMP and Park Warden Services are currently investigating the cause of the wildfires.

Police are asking anyone with information that could help further the investigation to call them at 506-523-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
