N.B. RCMP conduct operation in case of missing man, make another plea for information

The New Brunswick RCMP is making another plea for information in the disappearance of David Alexander Mitchell, who was reported missing in September 2024.

Police say the Major Crime Unit, which took over the case this past September, conducted an operation in Whites Mountain, N.B., on Dec. 2 and 3 in connection with Mitchell’s disappearance.

The RCMP didn’t release any details about the operation. CTV News Atlantic has reached out to police for more information.

Investigators said Monday they are still looking for “any new details about his disappearance, even if they seem small.”

Mitchell was last seen at a home on Whites Mountain Road on Sept. 9, 2024. The 48-year-old was reported missing to police on Sept. 25, 2024.

The RCMP previously told CTV News that Mitchell’s disappearance is considered suspicious.

Mitchell is roughly six-foot-two and weighs about 180 pounds. He has hazel eyes, grey hair and a grey goatee.

A clothing description is not available.
