Two people have died following separate collisions in the Halifax-area over the weekend.

A New Brunswick woman has died in a single vehicle collision in Nova Scotia.

RCMP said officers responded to the crash just before 9:30 a.m. Saturday on Highway 103 in Upper Tantallon, N.S. Police said a driver in a Toyota Matrix was travelling west, when they left the road and crashed into the ditch.

The driver, a 47-year-old woman from Dalhousie Junction, N.B., was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in the vehicle.

The highway was shut down for several hours, but reopened Saturday afternoon.

Police said a collision reconstructionist attended the scene of the crash. The cause is under investigation.
