Several Maritime businesses are among those pranking their online followers to mark April Fools’ Day Tuesday.
Halifax cheesecake spot Sweet Hereafter introduced its new flavour: spaghetti and meatballs cheesecake with “vegetarian meatballs and a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.”
Stewiacke-based Coldstream Beer posted its new “emergency beer cans,” which resemble jerrycans. The post says it’s because “running out just isn’t an option.”
Meanwhile, Coldstream Clear Distillery is asking followers to vote for their favorite drink option: an 18-litre jug of their peached ice tea, ravioli rum pop, Canadian hop dog and poutine gravy Canadian cream with cheese curds.
River Breeze Corn Maze in Upper Onslow, N.S., says it has worked with research scientists, plant propagators and specialists in genetics to combine the sweetness of strawberries with the size of its pumpkins. Their new creation is called “strumpkins.”
Those wishing to take a refreshing dip after a strenuous workout can visit the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro, N.S., which posted a photo of its new “gym-to-pool express slide.”
“Tired of walking all the way to the locker room after leg day? Just hop on the slide and whoosh—straight into the pool for an instant cooldown,” the post says.
“Safety concerns? Don’t worry—we’re handing out floaties at the bottom.”
Meanwhile, the historic Algonquin Resort in St. Andrews, N.B., said it’s replacing its iconic red roof with “Algonquin Blue.”
“Our design team felt it was time to match our Maritime surroundings and bring the ocean to our rooftop. Construction begins next week,” the resort said in social media post.
Receiver Coffee Co. in Charlottetown posted a video of its new deal on Instagram – bottomless drip coffee, featuring a literal bottomless coffee cup.

One of Canada’s most iconic businesses is also getting in on the April Fools’ action. Tim Hortons is promoting three new additions to its menu: the Atlantic lobster éclair, a poutine donut and the ketchup chip cruller.
