Alex Karpa

Alex Karpa is a Multi-Skilled Journalist for CTV National News, based in Winnipeg, Man. and joined the team in October 2024. He has worked on a variety of Manitoba-based stories, covering wildfires, trade and economic opportunities in the North, and cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Alex started his journalism career in August 2019, when he was an on-air radio host with Winnipeg’s QX104 Country station. In March 2020, he left the radio scene and started his career as a video journalist. He accepted a job with CityNews Winnipeg at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Alex is a journalism major, having completed the creative communications program at Winnipeg’s RRC Polytech, formerly known as Red River College. He was born and raised in Winnipeg and is passionate about telling the stories of his home province. He speaks English and Ukrainian.
